It’s the season to be jolly… – wait, what? Oh. It’s GDG DevFest Season 2016. Yes. GDG DevFests are large, community-run events that offer speaker sessions across multiple product areas, all-day hack-a-thons, code labs, and more. In 2016, the official DevFest Season runs from September 01st through November 30th. These events are organized by the Google Developer Groups worlwide, and the Google Developer Groups of Berlin are organizing their fest on the 11th/12th of November.
After a short summer break where hopefully everyone enjoyed the few minutes of sunshine the Berlin summer has granted us, we are back with our next Kubernetes Meetup in September! Join us on the 14th of September at the Endocode headquarter and learn more about OpenShift and lessons on saving AWS with Kubernetes. We are very excited to welcome Lutz and Felix as our speakers. Lutz (@AtomicContainer) studied computer science at TU-Berlin and worked as a sysadmin in mixed Linux / Windows environments.
If you watched our Twitter account this weekend, you noticed that we weren’t just lying in the sun/hiding from the rain. On Saturday, we opened our doors and welcomed our friends from Crate.IO for a Kubernetes hackathon. Crate is an open-source, highly scalable, shared nothing distributed database. And yes. They love containers. And that is how we met. So Saturday was here and along with it arrived some 20 enthusiasts who were ready for some hacking.
