The weekend of the 23rd - 25th of June was a weekend some of us spent at the office. Not because we are trying to avoid doing the dishes at home, but because we had guests.
Endocode hosted the German LibreOffice community that gets together every year to exchange ideas, discuss new features and make plans for the future. LibreOffice, as part of the Document Foundation, is an independent, self-gorverning meritocratic entity, formed and kept alive by a large group of Free Software advocates who are happy to donate their time and skills to create the world’s leading free office suite. As an open-source committed company, we were happy to host more than 20 volunteers who spend the weekend contributing to LibreOffice.
Discussions focused on getting more end useres involved to become project contributors, strengthening outreach and visions for the future, developing new killer features and improving existing features.
And at the end of the day, there was a bit of time and energy left to network, share some food and drink and meet old friends.
There are many ways to get involved and support LibreOffice: Development, design, documentation, testing, marketing or infrastructure. You can read up on the possibilities here. For now, Endocode would like to just say: We were happy to have you. Thank you for all your work.
